God’s Eternal Power and Divine Nature

Revelation 4:11

So, where have I been? Why no Soul Refreshers for several weeks? Well, for part of that time I’ve been off getting refreshed—body, mind, and soul—as my husband and I celebrated our 50th anniversary by visiting some of God’s amazing creation in California.

We were blessed to be able to experience Yosemite National Park and Sequoia National Park, as well as several other places. And I can definitely agree with what the apostle Paul wrote about God’s eternal power and divine nature being clearly seen in creation (Romans 1:20). Just look at the size of that Giant Sequoia! And it’s not even the largest one there.

Let me share with you just a small part of what we were blessed to see, with the prayer that you too will see God’s eternal power and divine nature and will worship Him.

“Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?”
Isaiah 40:12

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy” Psalm 96:11-12

“Ah, sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you” Jeremiah 32:17

  • Take time this week to praise God for His greatness.
  • Thank Him for the blessings of His creation.
  • When you have the chance, spend some time in God’s creation. You don’t necessarily have to visit a national park; the wonders of His creation are all around us. Visit a local park, the beach, a forest preserve, or even venture out into your own backyard. Once there, open your eyes and worship Him.
